Or is that constant irony and lashon hara employed here can lead a Yehudi to see the right path? Perhaps the honor of the Torah requires two years of debates against the position of a single person? I don't think so...

How a huge succession of denials, claims and demands of conditions can prevent misinformation flows? All this only serves to confuse people. It is obvious that in this way the Mashiach is not coming. Am Yisroel deteriorates when we allow ourselves to focus on the "tafel" instead of the "ikar"...

It's sad brothers ... we are for more important things to fix in the world around us and ourselves than identify animals (or worse: use them as means to defend shitot).

Please, think about what Rav Yisroel Salanter meant when he said that we have to do teshuva on the easy level.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156818456094504468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999467500145167346.post-78484779925267236372012-08-26T23:22:57.105-04:002012-08-26T23:22:57.105-04:00Marcus Freudental
Dear Marcus,
Shalom Aleichem! ...Marcus Freudental

Dear Marcus,

Shalom Aleichem! Welcome to our blog and thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Speaking of reb simcha... we are looking forward to a new blog post or two!

I apologize. The summer is very difficult for me. My wife and I run several kiruv related programs during the summer months so I rarely get a chance to sit and write. I hope to begin writing again shortly. Meanwhile I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for the kind things you wrote about me.

Incidentally, I noticed that you left a comment on a previous thread (Rav Hirsch). Just so you know, the time limitation for comments on this blog is set to 45 days. That’s why your comment did not appear right away. I happen to sit down at my computer this evening to check the moderation folder. I saw your comments so I activated them.

Best wishes,

SC
Simcha Cofferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01243327012385531727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999467500145167346.post-88302127445566892162012-08-22T18:11:00.737-04:002012-08-22T18:11:00.737-04:00Hi, sorry I'm late to the party. Following the Rambam (Hilchos Deos) I don't go to these places anymore for fear that I too should become a snide, bitter cynic. (possibly I was too late) We should all try to learn from reb simcha to be a mensch even while deep in an argument. Speaking of reb simcha... we are looking forward to a new blog post or two!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01778726583244362536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999467500145167346.post-23514389285641213402012-07-12T19:29:59.860-04:002012-07-12T19:29:59.860-04:00What's out of context? So where's the point of making a real argument on the part of Rabbi Slifkin according to you. I don't perhaps understand your point.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1999467500145167346.post-35383252613942881472012-07-12T11:47:20.941-04:002012-07-12T11:47:20.941-04:00"One final question needs to be addressed. What’s wrong with criticizing blogs that are clearly out to criticize gedolim for the sake of criticism alone? And the answer is simple. Rabbi Slifkin (who, to his enormous credit, is brutally honest about himself) answers it himself. Here it is.
“I most certainly agree that there is plenty to criticize about the blogosphere…There is also a tendency towards negativity which, even if it serves a useful purpose, is unhealthy. Indeed, my own blog certainly suffers from the latter (although, at least in my case, a large portion of the blame can certainly be attributed towards the Gedolim that Rabbi Shafran defends) "

You quoted out of context here. If he can accommodate honesty at all with himself he will. If he can tolerate or feel he can answer challenges he will but he won't let the truth stand in the way of his agendas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
